Why sterling silver

Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% pure silver, which is why it carries the 925 stamp. Pure silver is too soft to hold fine detail like a butterfly's wings, so that small proportion of added metal is what lets a pendant keep its shape and its detail through daily wear. It is also one of the best tolerated jewellery metals for sensitive skin.
